Old House has incorporated a ritual beginning in Rome where young
lovers would write their names on a padlock, chain it to the Ponte
Milvio Bridge, then throw the keys into the river in a gesture of
undying love.
Lovers young and old now have the opportunity to imitate the practice of the now famous Milvian Bridge of
Love at Old House. Anyone is welcome to bring a lock and attach it to our Love Lock chains at the dock off
the wedding island, celebrating one another, as the keys are released into Old House Lake!
Couples who marry at Old House are given a lock engraved with their names and wedding date. Many incorporate
the placing of the lock and throwing of the keys into their wedding ceremony or reception.
