MATTHIEU FINOT - Wine Maker

Matthieu was introduced to the life of a wine-maker as soon as he was born.
He grew up on the family farm and was surrounded by the viticulture
of the northern
Rhone Valley, Crozes Hermitage. After high school, he went to Beaune,
in the heart of Burgandy to study viticulture and oenology. He received
his degree and practiced his
trade in various French regions: Bordeaux, Burgundy, Provence, Jura,
and the Rhone Valley. His strong interest in learning led him to explore
wine-making around the world:
Italy, South Africa, and then Virginia in 2003. He is now working as
a wine-making consultant for a number of Virginia wineries and is also
teaching classes in his trade.
We are so happy to have him here and look forward to sharing his wines
with you.
DAMIEN BLANCHON - Cellar Manager

Damien comes to join us as Cellar Manager from Perpignan, France.
(Southern France 10 miles east of the Mediterranean Coast, close to Spain.)
He comes from a family of grape growers and helped with his grandfathers's
vineyard
prior to receiving his degree in viticulture and enology at the College
of Agriculture LEGTA Charlemagne in Carcassowne. After school he worked
at a nearby estate in their
vineyard and cellar. He then made the decision to come to the USA and
learn different ways to grow grapes and make wines. He is now interning
here with our wine maker
